About this project

Full scibing is an old age method of construction and has stood the test of time and continues to remain a classic form of building, bringing nature back to architecture.

These mobile log cabins are hand crafted in top grade Larch or Douglas Fir, and we personally select the trees which are hand felled during the winter months to reduce the amount of sap. The life span of these homes is 200 years and can be enjoyed by generation after generation. There are many ways of finishing the roof for the home; choose from shingle, turf or peg tiles although slate is the most popular.

A 60ft by 22ft home will accommodate two or three bedrooms and make an ideal family home.

All the homes are laid out to your personal specification and are spacious inside. Standard internal log walls make for a real authentic feel but can also be broken up by using subdividing stud walls. These can help to lighten the interior leaving a rustic decor which is casual, yet romantic.

These types of builds are the easiest to obtain planning permission for, especially if replacing a mobile home as they conform to the mobile home regulations.

Windows and doors are an important stage within your build. The right combination of colour, style and size will enhance you homes appearance, and this is why here at Canada Wood we have our own in-house joiners who hand craft all windows and doors in a selection of timber.
